We the International Association of Black Magical Artists, envision a time when the art of magic is elevated throughout the world, and particularly, in and through the African Diaspora.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission will be in part, to organize as many African American magicians and/or TransAtlantic Black magicians and mentalists, for the exchange of ideas, the improvement and perfecting of performance skills, and the showcasing thereof. We will promote the learning of our rich cultural magic heritage, and the archiving of our own current magic history.

Our motto encapsulates the guiding beliefs of our organization to excel in and through “Culture, Community, and Conjuring.”

• CULTURE- We believe that CULTURE is relevant to the performer and our audiences.

• COMMUNITY- We believe that wherever people unite in the world, that the art of magic, may have the opportunity to positively impact it.

• CONJURING- We believe the magic effects of our craft and our organization are human produced, and not through supernatural agency.

HISTORY OF THE I.A.B.M.A.

​

After a number of years and many discussions amongst dozens of magicians, the International Association of Black Magical Artists was formed on February 2, 2016. Five African American magicians, from five different states and nearly 90 years of performance experience, decided to formally create an organization to promote the art of magic entertainment through the fellowship, partnering, recognizing and showcasing of magicians of the African Diaspora and beyond. The group immediately embarked on the ambitious project of creating a magic convention, that was held in November of 2016.
